These terms govern your use of AetherStep, a fitness role-playing game in which real-world walking powers your character. By playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.
You may play as a guest or sign in with Apple, Google, or (where available) an email address and password. A guest account is a real account with no sign-in attached, and you can sign in later to keep the progress you made as a guest.
A guest account can be lost. Because nothing identifies it but the app itself, deleting the app, losing the device, or clearing its data may leave that account unreachable, and we may be unable to restore it. Signing in is what makes an account recoverable.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share it, and do not use someone else's.
AetherStep rewards real walking. Do not falsify fitness data — including simulated steps, motion machines, or modified health data — and do not use automation, modified clients, or exploits to gain items, currency, or ranking.
We may reject fitness records that fail our validity checks, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Leaderboards, guilds, and chat are shared spaces: do not harass other players or use names or messages that are abusive, hateful, or obscene.
AetherStep is free to play and offers optional purchases. Crystals, Aether Gold, cosmetics, passes, and every other in-game item are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use them inside AetherStep. You do not own them, they have no cash value, and they cannot be redeemed for money or exchanged outside the game.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us, and their refund policies apply. We may add, change, retire, or re-price items, and may adjust game balance — including the value or effect of items you already hold — as the game develops.
Unused virtual items may be lost if your account is closed or if the service ends. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law in your country.
AetherStep is under continuing development and is provided as-is. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Where a significant change is planned, we will give notice in the game if we reasonably can.
While AetherStep has not yet been publicly released, it is available only to invited testers, and we may reset game progress — characters, levels, and items earned in play — for those taking part. One full reset took place on August 1, 2026.
This does not extend to anything bought with real money. Crystals and other paid entitlements are not removed by such a reset. Once AetherStep is publicly released, this section no longer applies and your progress is not subject to reset under it.
AetherStep is a game, not a medical device or a fitness or medical service. It does not provide medical advice, and its step and distance figures come from your device and are not guaranteed to be accurate. Consult a qualified professional before changing your activity, and stop and seek help if you feel unwell. Be aware of your surroundings while walking — do not use the app where it is unsafe.
The game, its art, text, and code belong to AetherStep and its licensors. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or redistribute them except where the law allows. Anything you submit — a display name, a chat message, a bug report — you allow us to use for operating and improving the game.
You may stop playing and delete your account at any time from inside the app, or through the account deletion request page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.
To the extent the law allows, AetherStep is provided without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses, lost progress, or lost virtual items. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
We will update this page as the game changes, and the date above will move. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it. Questions: [email protected].
